Fang Lei Gao

Fanglei Gao is a graduate student at Southern Illinois University majoring in Behavior Analysis and Therapy. Her general interest centers on the study of violent and toxic relationships, with a particular focus on their often hidden nature within societies. She is particularly interested in exploring how different cultures and family backgrounds shape interpersonal relationships. She recognizes that cultural norms can sometimes normalize toxic behaviors, resulting in both psychological and physical harm. Her research aims to uncover these cultural subtleties, ultimately leading to more effective intervention strategies. She currently serves as a research assistant to Dr. Anthony James on the State of Families project.
